Felipe Massa has signed a one year contract extension to race for the Ferrari team to the end of the 2013 season following his strong results at Korea, Japan and Singapore. While many commentators attacked Massa’s performances at the start of the season, his results have been on an upward trend since the Hungarian GP and even as far back as Silverstone he looked to show some of the spark Massa had become respected for. Ferrari is confident the problems that resulted in Massa scoring only 2 points after 5 races are something of the past.
This announcement ends alot of the speculation as to who will take his seat at the end of the season with Mark Webber once the number 1 favorite until his extension with Red Bull following the British GP.
